Inpatient Rehab Unit on the 6th floor of Southwest Mississippi Regional Medical Center is a unique, specialized “hospital within a hospital.” Occupational therapists, physical therapists and speech/language pathologists work as a team with the medical director, the social worker, the nurses and the patient and family to provide therapy during the day and carryover of activities by the nurses and family at night. Therapy is focused on getting a patient as independent as possible with the kinds of activities he or she performed before the illness.
