Visiting Hours


Please follow the guidelines listed below while visiting in this hospital.

General Visiting Hours

6:00 am - 9:00 pm
Children under twelve years of age should not be left unattended in waiting areas or patient rooms.

Intensive Care Unit

Cardiovascular Services Surgical Care Unit

Children under twelve years of age are not allowed on the 3rd floor of the Cardiovascular Institute of Mississippi.

Maternity Suites Visitation Polices:

The LDRP Clinicians and staff strive to ensure that your birthing experience is a memory to cherish for many years to come. We recognize the excitement and joy that a newborn brings to new parents, family members, and visiting friends. To secure the safety and health of the newborn and to maintain the comfort of the mother, father or significant other, we ask that you abide by the polices below:

Daily Visitation Hours are from 10:00AM to 9:00PM

Unlimited visiting hours are provided to fathers/significant others

General LDRP Visitation Guidelines

  • No more than 4 visitors per patient are allowed in the suite at any given time.
  • During the final stages of labor, only 2 people may remain in the LDRP suite to attend delivery.
  • Visitors are not allowed to wait or congregate in the hallway outside of patient rooms. All visitors must move to the designated waiting area.
  • After the initial assessment of the mother and baby, visitors may be allowed at the mother’s discretion, only 2 at a time. This visitation may be limited by the staff to provide nursing care, rest for the patient, skin-to-skin and bonding time for the new parents.
  • All visitors must wash their hands or use hand sanitizer prior to holding or touching the newborn.
  • Other than siblings, no children under the age of 12 are allowed to visit in the LDRP Suites. All children must be accompanied by an adult.
  • After delivery, one support person may remain overnight in the LDRP Suite. Children are not allowed to stay overnight.
  • For the health of the new mother and baby, we ask that visitors who are ill (infections, fever, cold, coughing, diarrhea or vomiting) refrain from visiting.
  • During the Flu season and public health emergencies, all visitation practices may be amended to reflect infection control issues.
  • Visitation after hours may be permitted under certain circumstances. Visitors should stop at the security office near the ER entrance to obtain a visitor pass.

Information about NICU/Intermediate Care Babies

The NICU staff understand that having an infant in the Neonatal Intensive Care Unit (NICU)Staff is very stressful, and we are here to support you and your family through this difficult time. Our staff is available to provide parents or their designee with updates about their baby. An ID number is required before the caller can be provided updates.

NICU/ Intermediate Nursery Visitation Guidelines:

  • Parents are allowed to visit 24 hours a day in the NICU. We ask that you avoid the hours of 6:30AM-7:30AM and 6:30PM to 7:30PM to allow for nurse shift changes. Grandparents, and siblings over the age of 12 are also allowed to visit within the NICU. No more than 3 visitors at a time, including parents.
  • All visitors must check with the nurse’s station and sign in before entering the Nursery areas.
  • All visitors must perform thorough hand washing and wear a gown over their clothing before entering Nursery and NICU areas. We also encourage the use of hand sanitizer located within the unit.
  • No sick visitors will be allowed in Nursery/NICU areas.
